Fundația Sky

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Everyone talks about the sad fate of homeless animals, generally dogs. However, often the life of dogs that have families is much harsher than that of those without, because the latter at least have the chance to look for their own food or a place to sleep. In our villages, for example, although people have access to information just like those in cities, one thing they have still not managed to learn, and that is that a dog is a living being endowed with feelings, emotions, fears, anxieties, and needs. Most of them are tied up from the earliest weeks of life, behind the houses, with chains or wires that are adjusted as they grow, if they manage to grow. We have seen people who occasionally throw a cob of corn to the dog in their yard and consider that already too much for it. Not to mention proper doghouses or even makeshift ones. In the images presented below, you can see some examples of suffering dogs that have never known the taste of a treat or even a slice of bread, they have not lived a single day without hunger, thirst, fear, or cold. Who is responsible for all these horrors and who will pay for them one day, is a question without an answer and will remain so for a long time to come, unfortunately.

RO·Show original

Toata lumea vorbeste despre soarta trista a animalelor fara stapan, in general a cainilor. About Fundația Sky

What life with Fundația Sky looks like

Fundația Sky is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundatia Sky in Iasi.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fundația Sky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fundația Sky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundatia Sky handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fundația Sky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fundația Sky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundatia Sky will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fundația Sky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fundația Sky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundatia Sky early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fundația Sky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
