Gala ID-Nr: 1051835 Breed: mixed breed Age: ca. 03/2022 Gender: female Height: 65 cm Spayed/Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry Form Gala – a cheerful and calm explorer Gala (ca. 03/2022, ca. 65 cm) is a wonderful mixed-breed female dog. She was unfortunately already in the animal shelter a few times before she was finally surrendered. Gala has an absolutely wonderful personality. In her early days at the animal shelter, she was still a bit shy and needed time to get used to the new helpers. Nowadays, however, she has thawed out and is overjoyed to see every person who walks her. She now knows exactly that human visits mean love, cuddles, walks, treats, and quality time, and she loves it wholeheartedly! She is extremely social and greets everyone kindly. When she is especially happy to see you, she performs a little celebratory waddle and bounces around. Although the shelter routine can be very stressful, she shows herself to be a great companion outside. She walks wonderfully on a leash and pulls hardly at all. On a hike in the forest, she showed her adventurous side, she simply loves to explore the nature! She is completely relaxed when passing joggers, cyclists, and children. She is always curious and interested. She loves to thoroughly sniff and explore her surroundings. When she feels safe, she frolics happily with her primary caregiver. Additionally, she loves to splash in the water for her life! She also gets along excellently with other dogs. She is very respectful and communicates perfectly with her fellow animals. When she meets other dogs on a leash, she remains calm and curious. She barks not, but sniffs curiously in their direction and signals her friendly willingness to interact. Gala even participated in our annual charity run and behaved absolutely exemplary among the many people and dogs. Who will finally give this cheerful and loving female dog the safe and warm home she so deserves after all the disappointments? Gala is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has an EU pet passport. For travel arrangements, she has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and treated for fleas. About Gala

What life with Gala looks like

Gala is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
