Gianni

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Kitten · 2 months

Meet Gianni, a lovely young kitten searching for his forever home. Gianni was found as a stray at around seven weeks old and had to fend for himself during the early weeks of his life. As a result, he can be a little nervous around new people and unfamiliar environments. He is looking for a calm, patient adopter who will allow him the time and space he needs to settle in and build his confidence at his own pace. While he may be shy initially, with understanding and gentle encouragement he has every opportunity to flourish and show his unique personality. A quiet home environment would help him feel safe and secure as he adjusts to family life. Once fully settled into his new home, Gianni will need access to the outdoors, where he can enjoy exploring, exercising and spending some independent time doing all the things cats love best. Gianni would love the chance to find a caring home where he can continue to grow in confidence and enjoy the happy future he deserves.

About Gianni

What life with Gianni looks like

Gianni is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gianni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gianni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gianni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gianni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gianni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gianni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gianni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
