Adopt Georges

European Shorthair · Male · Senior · 13 years

Age: born on 06/11/2011 Identification: 250 269 604 432 707 Physical characteristics: Georges is a large tabby and white cat. He is neutered, FIV/Felv negative, vaccinated, and identified by an electronic microchip. When he entered the CDA, we accidentally found out that he had a low-grade lymphoma, which we manage very well with corticotherapy and oral chemotherapy. Georges currently has a very good quality of life, without symptoms, but remains in palliative care. Personality: Georges is a little guy, aged 13 years, but he doesn't show it at all! Georges behaves like a dog: he loves cuddles and attention. He is a mischievous little one, very clean, who can play with you as well as be very quiet next to you. The most impressive thing is his kindness; he will constantly talk to you and interact with you, as if he wanted to have a conversation. Moreover, whenever you want a cuddle or something else, he will be very happy to give it to you. His specialty is climbing onto your shoulder and staying there for hours. Photo available. He has very soft fur and loves being petted on the torso. If you have dogs, he is absolutely not afraid of them, and in general, he is very little afraid, he never hides and is quickly comfortable. If you have children, he will be happy to play with them. He has never been aggressive and is very patient. A unique characteristic of his: he has a real admiration for watermelon. If you eat it, hide it! He sleeps a lot and is very cute so you will soon have your gallery filled with photos of him. He is really an amazing cat and will quickly become your best friend. Story: entrusted to the association due to many health problems of his owner. Ideal placement: with people who are really present to give him cuddles and pets, but especially those who talk to him. He likes being talked to. Georges is okay with dogs and children. Contact: animal available in foster care in Paris. Contact Karine after 6 pm and on weekends, by email or via the web form.

About Georges

What life with Georges looks like

Georges is a small senior european shorthair cat waiting at Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 in Paris.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Georges, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Georges?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Georges on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Georges if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Georges already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Georges isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Georges and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
