Ghosty

Cane Corso Β· Male Β· Adult Β· 7 years

Meet Ghosty πŸ–€ Ghosty is a lovely older gentleman searching for a calm, understanding home where he can enjoy retirement in comfort and at his own pace. Since coming into our care, he has truly flourished thanks to his time on foster, showing just how much he enjoys the comforts of home life β€” cosy places to rest, quiet companionship, gentle fuss, and the chance to settle into a peaceful routine. He is an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy who forms lovely bonds with the people he trusts. Ghosty adores gentle strokes and massages, often leaning in for affection and charmingly asking for more attention when you stop with his paw. He has a wonderfully gentle nature and enjoys the simple things in life, including soft toys and relaxing with his favourite people nearby. Ghosty enjoys walks, though he much prefers quieter countryside adventures over busy areas and likes to take life at his own pace. He has shown lovely social skills around other dogs out and about, but would be happiest as the only dog in the home where he can fully relax and enjoy a peaceful environment. Due to a strong chase instinct, he cannot live with cats or small animals. Ghosty could live with sensible older children or teenagers who understand the importance of respecting his space. He is currently living with a slow progressing medical condition which is being, and will need careful management, so he is looking for a compassionate home willing to support him as he enjoys his golden years. Our clinical team will discuss this with any potential adopters in depth prior to rehoming. Ghosty is a truly special boy who has so much love to give and is simply looking for a quiet home where he can feel safe, comfortable, and cherished. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more Bruno you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. ch for the dog you have contacted us about

About Ghosty

What life with Ghosty looks like

Ghosty is a large adult cane corso dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ghosty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ghosty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ghosty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ghosty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ghosty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ghosty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ghosty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
