Adopt Gibs #En cours d’adoption

Male · Young · 1 year

Gibs - A big brave. Gibs is a very handsome dog whose past is unknown. After being found on the streets in Turkey and undergoing a three-month quarantine, Gibs entered the shelter a few weeks ago. He is affectionate with people when he knows them. He does not get along with other male animals of the same species; females need to be tested. He is not okay with cats. He will be placed without young children, as he can be a bit rough. He is a very energetic dog who will need good walks, hikes or outdoor games; he will be an excellent companion for an active life. Gibs knows how to make himself heard and tends to bark frequently. Gibs is waiting for a kind home, ready to offer him stability, activity and lots of love. His contact will present him in more detail during our meeting. If you would like to meet him, please make an appointment at 23.

Gibs – Un grand vaillant.

About Gibs #En cours d’adoption

What life with Gibs #En cours d’adoption looks like

Gibs #En cours d’adoption is a large young adult dog waiting at SPA Genève in Geneva.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gibs #En cours d’adoption, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gibs #En cours d’adoption?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Genève handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gibs #En cours d’adoption on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gibs #En cours d’adoption if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Genève will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gibs #En cours d’adoption already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gibs #En cours d’adoption isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Genève early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gibs #En cours d’adoption and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
