GIENIA

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Gienia is approximately 2 years old and weighs only 7 kg. She was taken in from a yard in the middle of the city, near a house where no one lived. In the summer, the dogs were left without water and food. Gienia is a little scared and frightened. She is also afraid of other dogs. She needs time, peace and patience to feel safe and learn to trust humans. However, once she gets to know someone and trusts them, she shows her true face - she is a terrible cuddler and really likes human closeness. We are looking for a quiet and responsible home for her, which will not force her to do anything and allow her to open up at her own pace. Gienia is a small dog who, after what she has been through, needs above all safety and a good person. She has already been spayed, is healthy, and ready for adoption.

PL·Show original

Gienia ma około 2 lat i waży tylko 7 kg. Została zabrana interwencyjnie z podwórka znajdującego się w środku miasta, przy domu, w którym nikt nie mieszkał. W lecie sunie przebywały tam bez wody i jedzenia.

About GIENIA

What life with GIENIA looks like

GIENIA is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stalowowolskie Stowarzyszenie Opieki nad Zwierzętami in Poland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting GIENIA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about GIENIA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stalowowolskie Stowarzyszenie Opieki nad Zwierzętami handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw GIENIA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt GIENIA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stalowowolskie Stowarzyszenie Opieki nad Zwierzętami will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is GIENIA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if GIENIA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stalowowolskie Stowarzyszenie Opieki nad Zwierzętami early rather than rehoming privately; they know GIENIA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
