Mensen vind ik nog behoorlijk spannend. In hun aanwezigheid voel ik me snel onzeker en gestrest en het liefst houd ik dan ook wat afstand. Een leven als gezellige huiskat waarbij veel contact van mij wordt verwacht, past daarom niet bij mij. Ik ben op zoek naar iets anders: een fijn en veilig buitenplekje waar ik lekker mezelf mag zijn. Toch zit er achter mijn onzekerheid ook een nieuwsgierig meisje verstopt. Haal je een hengeltje tevoorschijn? Dan wil ik best eens kijken of ik mee kan doen! Ook voor lekker natvoer kom ik vrij snel tevoorschijn. Op zo’n moment mag je me soms zelfs voorzichtig even aaien. Maar verder bepaal ik graag zelf hoeveel afstand ik nodig heb. Een kleine ruimte waarin ik weinig bewegingsvrijheid heb, geeft mij veel stress. Tijdens mijn benchtraining was ik daardoor niet altijd zindelijk en plaste ik zelfs over mijn voer- en waterbak heen. Sinds ik vrij kan rondlopen in een rustige bijkeuken gaat dit gelukkig wél goed en ben ik netjes zindelijk. Voor mij maakt voldoende rust en ruimte dus echt een groot verschil. Ik zoek mensen die begrijpen dat ik waarschijnlijk nooit een echte knuffelkat zal worden en dat ook helemaal niet van mij verwachten. Geef mij een veilige buitenplek, beschutting, goede verzorging, lekker eten en de vrijheid om mijn eigen keuzes te maken. Wie weet durf ik mettertijd steeds een klein beetje meer, maar niets hoeft.
