GINO

Male · Kitten · 4 months

This year again, some stray mommas found their way to our cat shelter, where they could safely give birth and raise their kittens. Now the kittens are old enough to move to their own homes. One of them is little Gino: He approaches his visitors curiously and plays a lot with his companions. All our youngest are special in their own way. They are enchanting and wrap their staff and can open cans around their little fingers. Watching these little creatures and accompanying them as they grow up is a joy, although they can certainly "turn their room upside down" at times. Our kittens and young cats are always only placed in pairs or with an existing and matching cat for animal welfare reasons. We would be happy to advise you on who fits whom. All are vaccinated, chipped and dewormed against a deposit and contract of the Osnabrück Cat Protection Association. We are very excited about your contact! Until you get to know your personal candidate in person, you can observe Gino and his roommates online via the webcams in (Room B4-1). You can also find news about many of our protégés, including photos and videos, on Instagram, Facebook or our YouTube channel Katzenschutzbund Osnabrück e.V. There is always something going on in our cat house!

DE·Show original

In unserem Mietzhaus ist nämlich immer was los!

About GINO

What life with GINO looks like

GINO is a large puppy/kitten cat waiting at Katzenschutzbund in Brüggen-Bracht.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting GINO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about GINO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenschutzbund handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw GINO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt GINO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenschutzbund will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is GINO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if GINO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenschutzbund early rather than rehoming privately; they know GINO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
