Gino

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed-breed Gino - now his life is finally going to be really wonderful The only 11 months old Gino ended up in our Spanish partner animal shelter and initially showed one thing above all: what a sweet, calm and incredibly cute guy he is. Upon his arrival, Gino was unfortunately severely emaciated and much too thin. But those times are now finally over - from now on his life is going to be better. Gino is already a large male and will probably gain in width and substance. Despite his size, he is pleasant, calm and friendly. He is a young dog who naturally wants to learn a lot and now gets the chance to get to know the world outside the animal shelter and grow into a stately, self-confident male in peace. We wish Gino a home in rural areas, preferably with a securely fenced garden, where he can move around, relax and just be a dog. People who enjoy accompanying a young dog on his further journey and giving him security, time and loving guidance would be just the right ones for him. Gino still has his whole life ahead of him. After his difficult start, we wish him now people who will show him how beautiful a dog's life can be. Here's Gino's video

About Gino

What life with Gino looks like

Gino is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
