Gira 2

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

Gira 2 (P-6635/25), female dog born in March 2023, arrived at our shelter on November 17, 2025. She was returned from adoption to Gira, a very friendly female dog who loves human company. She is curious and quickly makes contact with everyone, whether adults or school-aged children. On walks, she sniffs a lot but always keeps an eye on the caregiver. She beautifully adjusts her pace, can run by your side, and knows the commands "sit" and "give a paw." On the play area, she eagerly plays with toys. It's not a problem to put a collar and harness on her. She takes care of her needs on walks. However, because she only relieved herself in a box during her previous stay at the animal shelter before adoption, she will need to learn cleanliness. She is primarily curious about other dogs; some invite play, while with others she avoids contact and sets boundaries. Before walks, she gets very excited and must "bounce" her energy out before she can sit and be dressed politely. She jumps energetically, high, so if left alone, she will jump over any fence or wall. Gira waits for a wise home that can handle her energy and provide peace and safety. Zna komendę siad i daj łapę. Na wybiegu chętnie bawi się aportując zabawki. Bez problemu można jej założyć obrożę i ubranko. About Gira 2

What life with Gira 2 looks like

Gira 2 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Bialystok in Białystok.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gira 2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gira 2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Bialystok handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gira 2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gira 2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Bialystok will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gira 2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gira 2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Bialystok early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gira 2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
