Glimt

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

"Hi! My name is Glimt, and I'm an incredibly affectionate and loving cat once I feel safe. I love closeness, I'll happily follow you around the house, and I'd rather lie right next to you, preferably by your side in bed at night. I also have the sweetest little meows that I use to chat a bit with you, and I get very attached to the people in my life 💛 At the same time, I'm a somewhat cautious boy who needs some time to feel safe in new environments. Loud noises or sudden movements can make me uncertain, and then I might start to hiss a bit to let you know I need some peace. Sometimes I also withdraw and hide under the bed until I feel comfortable again. But I am never aggressive, I don't bite or scratch. I prefer to choose how I want to be close to you, and I'm not so fond of being picked up and carried around. When I get to do things at my own pace, I really show how nice I am. And a little bonus: I love food, so it's a great way to become friends with me! I do best in a quiet home with patient people who give me time and understanding. In return, you'll get an incredibly devoted, charming and good friend for life ❤️"

«Hei!

About Glimt

What life with Glimt looks like

Glimt is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter in Trollåsen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Glimt, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Glimt?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Glimt on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Glimt if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Glimt already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Glimt isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Glimt and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NB). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
