adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Glitter has found a home! Her story: Be enchanted by Glitter, a true treasure ready to share her heart with you. At 53 cm and weighing 22 kg, the seven-year-old Husky-Mix-female dog is a graceful sight. But don't be deceived, for behind her captivating appearance lies a sensitive soul that needs time to bloom and finally reveal her true glory, as her name promises. Glitter has likely experienced much already and is therefore cautious when it comes to new people and situations. Loud noises greatly unsettle her, and she approaches men with skepticism. However, once she has built trust, she shows her loving and loyal side. She accepts people around her but needs her time to truly settle in. Glitter gets along well with other dogs, as long as the meeting is gradual and in a calm setting. This allows her to adjust at her own pace. Cats are also no problem for her. Huskies are not ordinary dogs, and that goes for our Glitter as well. They were originally bred as working dogs and require substantial physical and mental exertion. A quick walk around the block is far from enough. Glitter needs people who understand her needs and are willing to actively work with her. Huskies love movement. Extended walks or jogging rounds are ideal. Various dog sports also suit her, such as Canicross or Bikejuring. But nose and tracking exercises are also a wonderful way to mentally challenge her. A securely fenced yard is beneficial for Glitter, as it gives her the opportunity to run and play freely. However, what is most important initially is that Glitter finds a home where she can settle in peace and build trust. Ideally, in a quiet household without loud noises. Children should be responsible, and men in the family should initially behave more reservedly towards her. A female household would be ideal, but not necessary. Glitter travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with her EU pet passport to her new home. After a positive But also a foster home would be a stepping stone to a happy future. Glitter is waiting to show how much love lies within her. Thank you, Claudia, for giving Glitter a name and thus an identity. As of: 31.08.

Stand: 31.08.2025

About Glitter

What life with Glitter looks like

Glitter is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Glitter, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Glitter?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Glitter on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Glitter if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Glitter already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Glitter isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Glitter and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
