Fortunately, our vet for the horses came to us in the stable. Sir Tobi had a dental appointment, as he could no longer chew his hay properly and kept spitting it out. Although he already gets quite a bit of food in a mushy form that he doesn’t have to chew much anymore, hay is simply the basic diet for every horse. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row margin_top="0" margin_bottom="0"][vc_column][vc_empty_space height="30px"][vc_column_text]But there weren’t many rasps to give, because Sir Tobi has hardly any teeth left. We will therefore continue to feed him his special meals, the melon-free carrot sticks, and the rice mash, as well as plenty of hay cubes. Hay cubes are essentially pressed hay that is dissolved in water and turned into a mush. Heute war ein anstrengender Tag, denn wir pendelten wegen unserer Katzen-Kastrations-Aktionen nur zwischen Tierarzt, Tierhaus und Futterstellen hin und her. Umso besser, dass da unser Tierarzt für die Pferde zu uns in den Stall kam. Sir Tobi hatte nämlich einen Zahnarzt-Termin, da er sein Heu nicht mehr richtig kauen konnte und es immer wieder ausspuckte. Er bekommt zwar schon reichlich Futter in Breiform, das er nicht mehr viel kauen muss, aber Heu ist einfach DIE Grundlage für jedes Pferd. Viele Kanten zum Raspeln gab es aber nicht, denn Sir Tobi hat kaum noch Zähne. Wir werden ihm daher zukünftig zu seiner Kleie, den melassefreien Rübenschnitzeln und der Reiskleie auch noch reichlich Heucobs zufüttern. Heucobs sind im Prinzip gepresstes Heu, das in Wasser aufgelöst und so zu einem Brei wird. Leider gibt es für Pferde kein neues Gebiss, aber er liebt ja Brei und wird ihn daher sicher gut annehmen. ♡ ♡ ♡ Möchten Sie Sir Tobi gern bei den Zahnarztkosten, bei seinem Futter oder sogar mit einer dauerhaften Patenschaft unterstützen?
