adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Goldie would not be able to make a long journey anymore...that's why she found her grace in Romania. Her story: Goldie has been in our private shelter in Busag since an unbelievable 14 years. At 2 months old, she was thrown over the fence from a dog pension and brought to Busag by Dorel shortly after. Now, almost 14 years later, she still sits here, and her time seems to be running short. With her pretty beige fur and beautiful dark eyes, Goldie was a true sight when she arrived. She was always a very independent dog and not used to human contact, as only one person cares for nearly 80 dogs here. Now, one can clearly see the sad and dreary life she has led so far. Her fur has become straggly, her eyes more dull, and her legs have a slight misalignment. It is even more important now that we find a home for our sad senior, where she can once again experience everything that has been denied her for so long in her last life. Goldie is about 14 years old and approximately 60 cm tall. In the cold months, Goldie always lives in an old factory building that belongs to the shelter, so she doesn't have to freeze. It is not a pleasant place, though. In the warmer months, she can then go back outside to her doggy friends. In her 14 years of shelter life, she always got along well with other dogs, so it would be optimal if she already had one or more dogs in her new home, to give her more security. Goldie is more reserved with people. She is not used to human contact and tends to keep her distance. With a little patience and calmness, she can also be touched. For our senior, we wish a quiet rural home where nothing is expected of her. Ideally with a garden, because Goldie can no longer walk well and will probably be happier with a few quiet hours in the garden than with walks she may no longer be physically able to manage. Additionally, we are looking for experienced people who want to spend a beautiful time with Goldie with a lot of patience, love, and calm. Goldie travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to her new home. Goldie will be placed with a positive Tatjana M.! You gave Goldie her beautiful name! Thank you, Thomas Sch.! You support Goldie with a monthly sponsorship!! As of: 27.02.

Vielen Dank Tatjana M.! Du hast Goldie ihren schönen Namen geschenkt! Vielen Dank Thomas Sch.! Du unterstützt Goldie mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft!! Stand: 27.02.2025

About Goldie

What life with Goldie looks like

Goldie is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Goldie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Goldie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Goldie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Goldie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Goldie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Goldie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Goldie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
