Gombócka

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Gombócka is a female dog born in 2016, resembling a Yorkshire terrier, who came into our care due to a change in her owner’s living situation. She lives alongside her loyal boxer companion, Pogácsa. Gombócka is a truly magical, sweet, and cuddly little girl who is grateful for every touch and bit of attention she receives. Although her previous background wasn’t ideal, she has retained her open and friendly nature. She’s incredibly lovable—and even quite humorous! One of her favorite pastimes is splashing around; she loves climbing into her water bowl to cool off. She shares a very close bond with her companion, Pogácsa, and they are true pillars of support for each other. We’re looking for a loving family who understands the special needs of senior dogs—a home where she can live as a fully valued family member. Since she and Pogácsa are so closely attached, it would be wonderful if they could find a home together, but above all, their safety and well-being are our top priorities. Unfortunately, she tests positive for heartworm. To inquire about her and schedule a personal meeting, please call us at 06 30 221 1299 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, or enable cookies to access the “Like” button. apiKey: 'f94a516b15dff4516ffa78eb8ba036f3076dfc68',

Gombócka egy 2016-os születésű, yorkie jellegű, nőstény kutyus, aki gazdája élethelyzetének változása miatt került a gondozásunkba, hűséges boxer társa, Pogácsa oldalán.

About Gombócka

What life with Gombócka looks like

Gombócka is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gombócka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gombócka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gombócka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gombócka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gombócka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gombócka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gombócka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
