Goofy is just under four months old and a purebred Water Spaniel. He came from a breeder, he is healthy - and yet he is now in the care of ArcoNatura. Why is that? Goofy was bought as a gift. A man thought it was a great idea to buy his wife a puppy, but the wife found the idea less than successful. In the end, the dog was the one who suffered, had to leave quickly, preferably yesterday, and so Goofy is now living with a foster family and taking up a spot that a street dog urgently needed, because his owners acted irresponsibly and thoughtlessly. Fortunately, Goofy is currently quite indifferent to all of this, he feels very comfortable with his foster parents (two- and four-legged) and explores the new surroundings with joy and curiosity. Growing and sleeping are not the only things on the list of this compact herding dog, play and exploration are obviously at the top of the list, because eventually he wants to become a confident and world-wise gentleman. Until then, there is plenty of time for mischief, pranks and experiments with shoes, socks, pillows and books. Goofy is looking for a family that can assess the stress factor of such a young dog and still focuses more on the fun factor; loving, humorous people who can explain the big wide world to him step by step and give him the opportunity to recognize and develop his mental and physical abilities. The Water Spaniel is a highly intelligent and hardworking herding dog - even though there are certainly a few couch potatoes among them. But let's be honest, exceptions prove the rule, and anyone who sees Goofy hopping around in his temporary home, exploring and trying everything, would hardly think that the future show dog could turn into a couch cushion. Of course, our snuggly cub also enjoys cuddling and petting, tummy rubs and naps on his human's stomach - the hot water bottle factor is definitely present, and our junior athlete doesn't even shed, because Water Spaniels have a coat like Poodles that doesn't shed (and therefore needs different care. If you decide to get a Poodle or a Water Spaniel, speak to an expert about the correct coat care!). Are you infatuated? Well, Goofy has reached the magical age where you can travel from Spain, in a few days. He uses the remaining time to take some advanced classes in "innocent eye contact" and "I'm asleep, I didn't do it." After that, he could move in with you directly and perfect his skills. Goofy ist knapp vier Monate alt und ein reinrassiger Wasserhund. Er kommt von einem Züchter, er ist gesund – und trotzdem befindet er sich in der Obhut der ArcoNatura. Warum das so ist? Goofy wurde als Geschenk gekauft. Ein Mann dachte, es sei eine tolle Idee, seiner Frau einen Babyhund zu kaufen, entsprechende Frau fand den Einfall weniger gelungen. Am Ende war der Hund wieder der Leidtragende, musste schnell, am besten gestern, weg – und so lebt Goofy jetzt bei einer Pflegefamilie und nimmt einem Straßenhund einen dringend benötigten Platz weg, weil seine Besitzer verantwortungslos und unüberlegt gehandelt haben. Zum Glück ist Goofy das alles gerade ziemlich egal, er fühlt sich bei seinen Pflegeeltern (vier- und zweibeinig) höchst wohl und entdeckt die neue Umgebung mit Freude und Neugierde. Neben Wachsen und Schlafen stehen Spiel und Forschung selbstverständlich ganz oben auf der Liste des noch kompakten Hütehundes, denn irgendwann will er ja mal ein souveräner und welterfahrener Gentleman werden. Bis dahin ist aber durchaus noch viel Zeit für Dummheiten, Streiche und Experimente mit Schuhen, Socken, Kissen und Büchern. Goofy sucht eine Familie, die den Stressfaktor eines noch so jungen Hundes einschätzen kann und sich trotzdem mehr auf den Spaßfaktor konzentriert; also liebe, humorvolle Menschen, die ihm Schritt für Schritt die große weite Welt erklären können und ihm die Möglichkeit geben, seine geistigen und körperlichen Begabungen zu erkennen und zu entwickeln. Der Wasserhund ist ein höchst intelligenter und arbeitswilliger Hütehund – auch wenn es unter ihnen durchaus einige wenige Couchpotatoes gibt. Aber sind wir ehrlich, Ausnahmen bestätigen die Regel, und wer Goofy durch sein vorübergehendes Zuhause hüpfen sieht, wie er alles erkundet und ausprobiert, käme eher nicht auf die Idee, dass der künftige Vorzeigehund zum Sofakissen mutieren könnte. Aber natürlich schätzt unser Schmusebärchen auch Kuscheln und Streicheln, Bauchmassagen und Nickerchen auf Herrchens Bauch – der Wärmflaschenfaktor ist also tatsächlich auch gegeben, und dabei haart unser Nachwuchsathlet nicht einmal, denn Wasserhunde sind wie Pudel mit einem Fell ausgestattet, dass nicht ausfällt (entsprechend muss es anders gepflegt werden. Wenn Sie sich also für einen Pudel oder Wasserhund entscheiden, sprechen Sie mit einem Fachmann über die richtige Fellpflege!). Sie sind schockverliebt? Nun, Goofy hat das magische Alter, in dem man aus Spanien ausreisen darf, in wenigen Tagen erreicht. Die verbleibende Zeit nutzt er zur Belegung einiger Fortgeschrittenen-Kurse im „unschuldigen Augenaufschlag“ und „ich schlafe, ich kann das nicht gewesen sein.“ Danach könnte er direkt bei Ihnen einziehen und seine Fähigkeiten perfektionieren.
