Gordo

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 5 years

Gordo is a beautiful cat born in January 2021. He was found abandoned, and although a family wanted to give him a chance, a severe allergy prevented him from staying with them. That's why Gordo has found himself without a home again without doing anything to deserve it. He is a sociable, affectionate, and very sensitive cat who right now doesn't understand why he has lost the peace and tranquility he so desperately wants. He struggles to adapt to the shelter because what he really needs is a stable home where he can feel safe and loved. Hopefully, Gordo won't have to wait much longer and can find that family that values him and finally gives him the stability and love he so deserves. If you're interested in meeting him, you can read the information about the and fill out the form:

Frequently asked

Adopting Gordo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gordo?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Barcelona) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gordo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gordo if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Barcelona) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gordo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gordo isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Barcelona) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gordo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically.
