Gracie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Gracie is a beautiful black and white tuxedo cat who is approximately 1 yr old. She was previously a stray who was being fed regularly by a member of the public but, when she gave birth to her kittens in their shed, she was handed over to the care of the RSPCA so that she could raise her kittens in a place of safety. She has been a wonderful attentive mother to her 3 kittens, but it is now time for her to find her forever family. She is a friendly, gentle, relaxed cat with a lovely meow. She loves head butts and chin rubs and is always pleased to see you, particularly if you are bringing her food. As her kittens are growing up, her playful side is starting to develop; she especially enjoys her dangly toys. Once she gets to know you, she will cuddle up on your lap or sleep next to you on the sofa. Gracie is vaccinated, microchipped and has been de-flead and wormed. She will be ready for adoption after her neutering operation on the 3rd November. She has been fostered in a home with multiple children and is fine to live with children of any age, especially ones who enjoy making a fuss of her. She would love a safe space to explore outdoors. About Gracie

What life with Gracie looks like

Gracie is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at RSPCA Altrincham & Cheshire in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gracie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gracie?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Altrincham & Cheshire handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gracie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gracie if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Altrincham & Cheshire will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gracie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gracie isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Altrincham & Cheshire early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gracie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
