Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Our Gregor was found in the middle of the street, helpless and wandering around - probably just recently abandoned without reason. He is currently living in a Romanian foster home, where he shows in a very lovable way how quickly he can trust again despite everything and open his heart to people. With his lively eyes, perked ears and endless desire for play and cuddles, Gregor is more than ready to meet his family and immediately impress them. At 10 months old, Gregor is still a young dog, with a shoulder height of about 60 cm and a weight of 30 kg, he already has a solid build. His coat in various shades of brown, the darker facial mask and especially his light front paws make him visually distinctive. Gregor is apparently a shepherd mix. Anyone who knows this great breed knows that they are among the most loyal dogs. They are intelligent, eager to learn and have a fine sense for "their" people. At the same time, they are very active, attentive and need a lot of physical and mental stimulation. Whether dog school, training, play or long walks - they love being challenged. At the same time, shepherds want to be closely involved in family life and enjoy the company of their people. Of course, young Gregor is still at the beginning of his "dog school" time and is looking forward to lots of attention, understanding and loving support in learning. The exciting adolescence has already begun and Gregor also likes to try things out - during this phase it is quite normal for him to occasionally test himself and try to make his own decisions. Then it's especially important to stand calmly and confidently by his side and patiently show him the right boundaries. Gregor is friendly and stands out immediately - not only in his dealings with us humans, but also with other dogs, towards whom he is friendly and open. Even with cats, the handsome male dog is very familiar and friendly. After a positive pre-check and payment of the protection fee, Gregor is microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, castrated and comes with an EU pet passport. Who will give this treasure on four legs a home where he can be happy? A foster home could also already help Gregor very much. Many thanks, Stephanie S., for taking on the godparenthood of his name. Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Gregor

What life with Gregor looks like

Gregor is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gregor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gregor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gregor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gregor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gregor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gregor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gregor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
