Gres

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Gres is our distinguished dog gentleman with a strong character. Young, at about 4 years old, weighing 26 kg and 50 cm tall, he is a real cuddle. He came to us after the death of his owner with another dog, who happily found a new home. Gres is a dog that will command respect on the property. He is aggressively oriented towards strangers, but loved by people he already knows - he is a dog for everyone. He definitely won't find himself in a house with small children - the liveliness and activity of children cause him anxiety. However, he is a great dog for those he trusts and accepts. When passing by his kennel, he turns his side to the cage demanding a stroke and offers his paw. On walks, he is very calm and composed, doesn't pull. He spends time sniffing bushes as if enjoying moments outside the animal shelter. He really likes the company of other dogs and is emotionally stable in relationships with them. If something doesn't suit him, he prefers to walk away rather than start a fight. Gres is a dog who will be a great guard dog - his determined attitude and strong voice command respect. We are looking for loving people for Gres, who will be able to lead him consistently and firmly, but without using violence. Our gentleman will need a few introductory meetings before adoption.

Gres to nasz dystyngowany psi dżentelmen z mocny charakterem.

About Gres

What life with Gres looks like

Gres is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Wesoly Kundelek in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gres, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gres?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wesoly Kundelek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gres on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gres if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wesoly Kundelek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gres already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gres isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wesoly Kundelek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gres and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
