Greta

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mixed-breed puppy Greta is eager to arrive The flood of puppies in Bulgaria unfortunately shows no signs of slowing down. Little Greta is also waiting for her chance. She was recently taken in by our partner animal shelter along with two of her siblings. Three other siblings already live there. But for Greta, the shelter should only be a short stop - she hopes to find a loving home or foster placement from which she can start her new life. Greta is a friendly, outgoing and curious puppy. She gets on well with other dogs, is people-oriented and enjoys every caress. With her cheerful nature, she wants to discover the world and learn all the beautiful sides of dog life. We are looking for people who will give her time to settle in quietly and provide her with patience, love and a clear structure to make her feel safe. Like any puppy, she still needs to learn the ABCs of being a dog. Housebreaking, staying alone, driving in cars and all the many new impressions are still big adventures for Greta. With loving, consistent guidance, she will grow step by step into a loyal companion. A puppy means responsibility, time and patience. There will be small challenges, but just as many happy moments that you can laugh and be proud of together. Greta wants people who will accompany her on this journey and show her how beautiful a sheltered dog life can be. Who will give Greta the chance at a life full of love, security and shared adventures? Click here to watch Greta's video

Mischling Greta möchte endlich ankommen Die Welpenflut in Bulgarien nimmt leider kein Ende.

About Greta

What life with Greta looks like

Greta is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Greta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Greta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Greta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Greta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Greta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Greta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Greta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
