Adopt Grześ

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Grzesiu is a very smart dog who communicates well with other dogs and can read their signals. He walks nicely on a leash, doesn't react to passing cars or bicycles, is composed and kind towards dogs, but can also politely set boundaries with an overly persistent friend. Grzesiu is usually a calm, balanced companion for long walks, during which his joyful inner child often emerges - then this big dog becomes light and fluffy, like a puppy, runs happily and infects others with his pure energy. He can also be stubborn - especially when he thinks he should decide the direction of the walk ... In such moments, he needs a caregiver who can calmly and consistently set limits for our handsome guy. Grzesiu willingly makes friends with people, he's simply a great companion. We want Grześ to have a home, not to guard an area. Therefore, we do not consider adoption to a place where he would stay outside only, even if it is a large, fenced property. We are looking for people who will take him into their home and heart and want to spend time with him, going on long nature walks, away from the city's noise. Grzesiu can live in a house with other nice dogs. The guy is of large size, completely healthy and neutered. Grzesiu is currently near Poznan. He is under the care of the Association From the Forest Edge, which conducts the adoption process and reserves the right to choose the caregiver.

Read original (pl)

Bywa też uparty – szczególnie gdy uważa, że to on powinien decydować o kierunku spaceru…

About Grześ

What life with Grześ looks like

Grześ is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grześ, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grześ?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grześ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grześ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grześ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grześ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grześ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
