Gucci

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Gucci is a Pomeranian-type dog, not LOF, with a fawn color. He is a neutered male, vaccinated (including rabies) and identified. Treated for internal and external parasites. Tested negative for diseases and had a dental cleaning. His birth date is estimated to be September 28, 2022, and he weighs approximately 5 kg (weight to be confirmed). A health certificate will be provided upon adoption. History: Gucci was abandoned on a balcony with another dog named Caramel in Lebanon. He was taken in and cared for by the BETA LEBANON shelter. Prepared for travel to Europe (rabies vaccination protocol). We are looking for a foster family (only in the 06 department) or a permanent adoptive family (throughout France). A repatriation to France will only be organized if a serious and reliable family commits to welcoming him upon arrival. Description: Gucci is described as friendly and playful. In the shelter context, he gets along with dogs. We do not know his compatibility with cats. * Currently in a non-family environment, we cannot provide more information on his level of education, socialization, and behavior. An adopter must be willing to invest in education and socialization, as well as take the time necessary for a good adaptation (which takes months). Therefore, a DISPONIBLE and COMMITTED family is needed. * PLEASE ABSTAIN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MEANS TO INVEST IN A BEHAVIORALIST EDUCATOR AND/OR IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE ENOUGH IN TERMS OF TIME AND ENERGY TO ALLOCATE TO A DOG AND ITS ADAPTATION. Adoption conditions: * Desired environment: ground-floor apartment/flat (attention to noise disturbance in case of barking) or house with a perfectly secure outdoor area (attention to water points). No more than 5 hours of absence during the day. We prefer to avoid children under 8 years old. * Desired family: an invested and available household that is aware of all the responsibilities involved in welcoming an animal. The family must be able to provide a stimulating and balanced life to give the dog access to physiological, emotional, and mental fulfillment. The adopter must be a person who is really available and focused on the dog's needs and its adaptation. * Having a garden does not exclude daily walks (except in exceptional cases), which provide well-being and a fundamental balance in a dog's life, in addition to working on and strengthening socialization. * If there are children: as friendly as he is, a dog is not a toy and can react badly to uncomfortable situations. It is important to teach children to respect his tranquility and always have the right approach/communication with the animal. Activities must never be done without supervision and any activity must be supervised by an adult. * Any adoptive family is asked to inform themselves in advance about the ethological needs of a dog and its breed, if any. Each member of the family must be fully in agreement and also involved in the process, in addition to understanding the entirety of the commitments and constraints for life, which represents daily life with an animal. The adopter must be able to arrange sessions with a behavioralist (and educator) dog for a good adaptation or in case of difficulty, it is a minimum. The same applies to medical care and canine boarding if needed. If we specify all this is due to a great lack of reflection/understanding on the part of many dog owners, who often imagine having an animal on demand and who believe that a dog should adapt to them and not the other way around, hence the countless absurd abandonments. A dog is not an object. It is not adapted to a sedentary lifestyle, it suffers from boredom, loneliness, and lack of stimulation. A good relationship between a human and his animal comes before anything else through respect and then comes trust and complicity. Adoptable in the 06 department or elsewhere if all adoption conditions are met (the adopter must come to pick up his dog). Adoption procedure: questionnaire, pre-visit, adoption contract, adoption follow-up. Adoption fee: 400 euros Contact only by email: NB: please think carefully about the moral and financial commitment that an adoption represents (health, veterinary bills, maintenance, food approximately 1000 euros per year, absences, holidays or others = boarding, daily accessories, education, etc. ). Thank you also for making sure you are well informed in advance about the characteristics of the breed concerned. A dog lives an average of 15 years. It is a sensitive being with everything that implies

About Gucci

What life with Gucci looks like

Gucci is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Les Chats du Mercantour in les chats du mercantour.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gucci, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gucci?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Les Chats du Mercantour handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gucci on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gucci if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Les Chats du Mercantour will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gucci already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gucci isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Les Chats du Mercantour early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gucci and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
