The handsome Gyuri has unfortunately suffered a sad fate—his owner passed away, and since no one in the family could care for him, he has been living at the animal shelter since early December. We had the chance to meet him during our January trip and were absolutely thrilled. Gyuri is not only beautiful, but also has a very calm personality with a strong presence. He is extremely open and affectionate toward people, enjoys attention and cuddles, and is at the perfect age. We believe that in a quiet home filled with love, he will quickly overcome his grief and bring great joy to his new family. Gyuri tested positive for heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis), and treatment has already begun. When detected and treated promptly, heartworm can very likely be cured completely and without lasting effects. The vast majority of dogs are neither affected in their well-being by the parasites themselves nor by the treatment. Contrary to common misconceptions, heartworm is NOT contagious—neither to other dogs, humans, nor any other animals. Afterwards, your adoption counselor will be happy to contact you by phone. Like all our dogs, Gyuri will travel with an EU pet passport and TRACES documents. He is already neutered and, once travel arrangements are confirmed, will also be fully vaccinated, freshly dewormed, treated with a spot-on product against external parasites, tested for Giardia (and treated if necessary), and provided with bloodwork including organ values and tests for diseases commonly found in Hungary. Additionally, all dogs travel wearing a properly fitted safety harness and equipped with a GPS tracker including a 1-year premium subscription. Dem hübschen Gyuri hat leider ein trauriges Schicksal ereilt, sein Herrchen ist verstorben und da sich keiner in der Familie um in kümmern konnte, lebt er seit anfang Dezember im Tierheim. Wir durften ihn während unserer Januarfahrt kennenlernen und waren total begeistert. Gyuri ist nicht nur wunderschön, er ist auch eine ganz ruhige Persönlichkeit mit einer starken Präsenz. Menschen gegenüber ist er sehr offen und zugewandt, genießt die Aufmerksamkeit und Streicheleinheiten. Er ist im besten alter und wir denken das er in einem ruhigen zuhause mit viel liebe, schnell die Trauer vergisst und seiner neuen Familie viel Freude bereiten wird. Gyuri wurde positiv auf Filarien getestet, mit der Behandlung wurde bereits begonnen. Rechtzeitig erkannt und behandelt, können Filarien mit sehr hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit erfolgreich und rückstandslos bekämpft werden. Die allermeisten Hunde sind weder durch die Parasiten selbst noch durch die Behandlung in ihrem Wohlbefinden beeinträchtigt. Filarien sind entgegen häufig zu findenden Behauptungen NICHT ansteckend - weder für Hunde noch für den Menschen oder andere Tiere.
