Habibi – after so many years, I finally want to arrive! 🐾 Hello, I am Habibi. ❤️ I have experienced so much and waited for so many years for my life to finally be beautiful. 😭💔 I spent many years of my life in an animal shelter in Romania. I knew nothing else than a kennel, many other dogs and this daily waiting. Waiting for someone to see me one day. That someone recognizes that I deserve a chance at a loving home too. 🥺🐾 About 2 years ago, I was finally allowed to come to Germany. I thought: Now my new life begins! ❤️ A life with people who love me, a warm bed and the beautiful feeling of finally arriving. But now my situation has changed. 😭💔 For family reasons, I have to leave my home as soon as possible. I am a very people-oriented and loving female dog. ❤️ I enjoy the closeness to my people and I want nothing more than to have someone again to whom I can give my heart. 🐾 A small handicap belongs to my life: I can't really load my right front paw. This is because I already had a fracture before my time in the animal shelter, which unfortunately was never treated. 😔 For longer distances, I have a wheelchair that makes my life easier. But I want to show you: I can still walk independently and am by no means helpless. ❤️ I also do my business independently – I can urinate and defecate on my own. Last year, a dental cleaning was done. 🐶 With other dogs I am super compatible! I live very well with congeners and have no problem at all sharing my home with another dog. 🐱 I have not yet had direct contact with cats. But on the walk, I have already come across cats – I looked at them and that was it. No drama, no chasing. 😊 👧👦 I also know children and they are no problem for me. What I wish for? A quiet, loving home where you take me as I am. ❤️ People who understand that I may not be able to run long distances like a young dog, but who can still give me a lot of joy, love and closeness. I have waited for so many years. I have hoped so often. And I don't want to lose everything again. 😭💔 Please give me the chance for my happy ending. Maybe you are exactly the person I have been waiting for all these years. ❤️🐾

Was ich mir wünsche? ❤️🐾

About Habibi

What life with Habibi looks like

Habibi is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Fellnasen e.V. in Waakirchen.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Habibi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Habibi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Fellnasen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Habibi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Habibi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Fellnasen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Habibi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Habibi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Fellnasen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Habibi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
