Hajdú Habakuk

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

A young mother and her five puppies arrived to us from the Hajdúhadházi municipal pound, where the mother had given birth. The family needed help with placement, and since we had a free mother-puppy kennel, we were able to welcome this distressed little family. They received the name "Hajdú Family" here. The Hajdú family's five puppies (3 males, 2 female dogs) were born on October 14, 2024. Habakuk is a young, small-sized, spaniel-like mixed breed with a slight "fox-like" coloring and an exceptionally unique appearance. Initially, he is somewhat distrustful of people, but once he gets to know them and feels safe, he greets them with tail wags and kisses, and certainly doesn't object to having his belly rubbed. He needs time to get to know people, but this will be well worth it. He was raised at the shelter, so during walks he is still uncertain; we are currently working on this. He especially needs the company of other dogs, and gets along nicely with everyone, so an ideal home for him would be one where there is already a friendly dog companion. Habakuk is a very kind, loveable, young dog who does not want to spend his young years at the shelter. He is looking for a family that will give him time, patience, and love - in return, he will offer a cheerful, affectionate companion.

Nálunk a Hajdú családnevet kapták.A Hajdú család öt kölyke (3 kan, 2 szuka) 2024. október 14-én született. About Hajdú Habakuk

What life with Hajdú Habakuk looks like

Hajdú Habakuk is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs time and patience for socialization, uncertain on walks as he grew up in shelter

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hajdú Habakuk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hajdú Habakuk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hajdú Habakuk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hajdú Habakuk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hajdú Habakuk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hajdú Habakuk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hajdú Habakuk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
