Hamlet

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Hamlet has found his home! His story: Great names cast long shadows. The charming little Dackel-Mix Hamlet came to us without a history. But whatever Hamlet experienced in his first year of life doesn't detract from his joy for living. Hamlet is a gentle, friendly little guy who simply loves everything and everyone, whether dogs, cats, big or small humans. There's room for all in his big heart. Currently, Hamlet lives together with many other dogs in a foster home in Romania. But of course, Hamlet also dreams of his own home. Hamlet is looking for people who won't expect much from him and will give him time to settle in. Housebreaking and the Dog ABC are probably still as foreign to him as being alone. Even though Hamlet doesn't run around on puppy legs anymore, he's probably in the middle of puberty. The time when synapses in the brain spin like a carousel and the dear little ones question everything and often forget what they've learned. A loving, consistent upbringing and a large portion of humor are required here. Are you ready to accompany Hamlet through this phase, and of course the rest of his life, and show him how wonderful a dog life can be? Hamlet is looking forward to your inquiry. 30 cm tall, pure joy is ready to discover the world with you. Hamlet is looking forward to beautiful walks, a visit to a dog training class, many cuddle hours, and a warm spot in your home and heart. Hamlet travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his new home. His EU pet passport is of course included. After a positive But Hamlet would also be happy to stay in a foster home. Thanks, Alexandra R.! You gave the little Hamlet his big name and thus an identity. As of: 25.05.

Stand: 25.05.2025

About Hamlet

What life with Hamlet looks like

Hamlet is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hamlet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hamlet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hamlet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hamlet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hamlet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hamlet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hamlet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
