Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this cat now! The beautiful, affectionate cat was found along with her siblings when she was just three months old. The three kittens were left in a box, exposed to dangers, weather and traffic without any protection. Scared and hungry, they hid under a car, but when they noticed the helpers who offered food and encouraged them, they ran up and meowed desperately as if asking for help. In our foster home, they could calm down and experience what safety means for the first time. This difficult, insecure start in life has made Hana a little cautious and she needs some time before she fully trusts her human. She needs someone who understands that love does not always have to be loud, but that the most special bonds sometimes develop slowly - with patience and kindness. When Hana realizes she is safe and finally lets go of her shyness, a cuddly and very affectionate cat will appear. Hana is not the type of cat that demands attention from the very first day; she will win the hearts of her humans with her calmness and gentleness. For Hana we are looking for a home suitable for apartment living due to this insecurity. Additionally, she gets along well with other cats and would feel comfortable in a quiet, loving home together with possibly a more confident cat friend who can serve as a role model. With an adoption fee, Hana can begin her journey into a new life. She is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas and tested negative for FiV and FelV. She also has her EU pet passport ready. If you would like to take Hana by the paw and show her with much love that she is safe, we look forward to your message. Thank you very much to Kim. You gave Hana her beautiful name and the chance for a new life. Date: 12.05.

Vielen Dank an Kim.

About Hana

What life with Hana looks like

Hana is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
