Handicap-Katze Leya braucht dringend Hilfe

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Leya, a nearly 5-year-old European Shorthair female who was previously an outdoor cat, has been living with her owner since she suffered a tail injury in an accident about three weeks ago. As a result of the injury, Leya is now incontinent for both urine and feces. Due to her temperament, two people are currently required to massage her bladder two or three times daily. The owner was able to organize help from friends until the end of next week, but this is not a long-term solution since he lives alone and must plan ahead for Leya's future. Unfortunately, there has been no sign of healing in the damaged nerves so far. It is unrealistic that the owner can manage the intensive care on his own in the long term, which poses significant health risks due to the risk of incomplete bladder emptying. The owner emphasizes that he only wants Leya's well-being and does not consider giving her up out of convenience. He will cover all additional costs for the intensive care and fully bear the costs for the likely necessary tail amputation. Here are the key details about Leya: Name & Age: Leya, almost 5 years old Rasse / Geschlecht / Haltung: European Shorthair (house cat), female, previously an outdoor cat Medizinischer Hintergrund: Accident about three weeks ago, since then incontinent for urine and feces after tail injury. A surgical tail amputation is likely still necessary. Pflegebedarf & Handling: The bladder must be massaged 2-3 times daily. According to our veterinarian, massaging Leya's bladder is exceptionally difficult. Two people are absolutely necessary: One person must gently fix the cat in the neck and chest area to prevent her from running away and keep her calm. Then I need both hands to safely fix the bladder between my fingers and build up even pressure without hurting Leya. If she is treated alone, she will break free and show her defiance through biting, scratching, and kicking while I am one-handed, not enough pressure on the bladder. Character: Apart from these care treatments, Leya is extremely affectionate, curious, and cheeky. She is known in the neighborhood as a very loving cat and charmingly demands her pets. Contact:

Kontakt:
