adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process The wonderful Hanna with her soft, cuddly white and beige fur was found alone on the street. Her finder brought her to the vet to check her microchip. Unfortunately, she didn't have one and she was brought to the public shelter in Bistrita. There she lived for several months and then had the good fortune to be placed in a foster home. The double-digit minus degrees in Romania made Hanna very uncomfortable. Therefore, she is very happy to finally be able to lie in a warm dog bed. With her dense, cream-white fur, Hanna is a real beauty. She has light brown eyes and a brown-pink nose. Her tail is always slightly curled on her back and super fluffy. Hanna is about 1.5 years old and has a rather small size, measuring around 43 cm and 13 kg; she is ideal for taking everywhere! She is an exceptionally loving and super friendly little dog girl, very people-oriented and playful. Hanna is compatible with other dogs and has only barked a little so far. Compatibility with other cats has not yet been tested. The charming Hanna looks curiously at the world and is ready to start a happy life in a loving family. With calmness, empathy, and patient guidance, she will surely quickly learn the entire dog ABC and become a great lifelong companion. A visit to a positively working dog training class will surely bring her much joy and help solidify what she has learned. She is active and full of life. Hanna would love to experience beautiful walks and explore the world together with her people. Hanna has her whole life ahead of her and would be very happy to find a cozy spot in a loving family where she finds love and security. For Hanna, we hope that she will now only experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for her. The wonderful Hanna is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive match. Who will give Hanna her heart and a loving home? Many thanks, Carmen! You gave Hanna her name and thus the start of a new life.

About Hanna

What life with Hanna looks like

Hanna is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hanna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hanna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hanna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hanna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hanna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hanna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hanna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
