Hannah

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Hannah, born around September 2025 and about 42 cm tall, had a guardian angel from the very beginning of her young life. She literally ran in front of Tanja and Astrid's car during their trip to Romania – and was incredibly lucky, because she was immediately taken off the street and brought to safety. Thus, she is spared the life on the Romanian streets. Welcome to the ViN family, little Hannah! At Estera's shelter, it quickly became clear: Hannah is a friendly, open-minded little dog. A sponsor immediately gave her her beautiful name, and since that moment, a new chapter begins for Hannah. She shows excitement when encountering cats. Therefore, we do not recommend a cohabitation. Tanja suspects that Terrier is involved. Her wiry hair would also suggest that. She is curious, delicate, attentive, and seeks people who show her how safe and loving the world can be. Hannah is soon ready for her own home or a foster home that enables her the next step. Who decides for her, gets a little lucky child who already had a lot of bad luck – and can finally arrive.Hannah travels spayed and will be vaccinated, chipped, and after a positive pre-control with a protection contract.General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited, so we can always re-evaluate their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a possible good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment – with new people, new routines, and new impressions – can also show itself differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs even open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself in the shelter – and what potential is in him.We are convinced: With patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and develop positively.

About Hannah

What life with Hannah looks like

Hannah is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hannah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hannah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hannah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hannah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Hannah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hannah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hannah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
