Happy (vermittelt)

Beagle · Male · Adult · 4 years

Regarding the ages mentioned here, they are often estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other information like size is subjective. Happy Born January 2008 Male dog, neutered Breed Beagle-Mix Size medium Foster Home Happy End for Happy 😉 Happy found a new family after a short time… a young couple with whom he can go through thick and thin from now on. Unexpectedly, Happy lost his home… Due to illness in the family where he lived for almost 4 years, another placement must be found quickly for the poor guy. His former foster home can take him in temporarily but unfortunately cannot provide long-term care unless someone, preferably an older couple in the Wörrstadt area, is willing to take him for hours or days at a time. Happy is a quiet, even-tempered dog. He enjoys car rides but unfortunately does not tolerate long drives very well. He is compatible with other dogs and likes children. He can walk on and off leash and knows basic commands. As he can sometimes be stubborn, clear instructions are needed. When the weather is unpredictable, he is not so eager to be outdoors. He loves snow and lies in the sun for hours in the summer. He stays alone at home but is very happy when family members come home. He is clingy and craves affection. Happy can be with older people or a family with children. For Happy, there was a second "Happy End" hopefully for good. Here are a few pictures. Click an image to enlarge.

About Happy (vermittelt)

What life with Happy (vermittelt) looks like

Happy (vermittelt) is a medium-sized adult beagle dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Happy (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Happy (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Happy (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Happy (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Happy (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Happy (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Happy (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
