adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Harald is searching for the people where he finally belongs. This approximately 2-year-old Labrador-mixed breed is a beautiful, black male dog with a big heart and a very special presence. Despite everything he has experienced in his young life, Harald has managed to preserve his joy for life and his friendly nature. Standing at about 50 cm at the shoulder and weighing around 25 kg, Harald brings a pleasant medium size. He is an active, energetic, and at the same time very affectionate dog who greatly enjoys walks, shared adventures, and the closeness to his people. Play is just as much a part of his everyday life as extended cuddling and cuddles. Harald's story began tragically: In January 2025, he was found together with his brother in Beliș in a severe case of animal cruelty. His brother unfortunately did not survive this hell. Harald was more fortunate and was saved by dedicated animal protectors. Shortly after, he was allowed to move into a home in Romania, but unfortunately, it was soon clear that he was not being cared for adequately there, so he had to be taken back. Today, Harald lives in a foster home in Romania with several other dogs and shows social and compatible behavior there. However, this is of course only a temporary station. After everything he has experienced, we wish to find Harald people who will finally give him security, love, and stability. Harald does not just want to live in the garden, but be a more permanent part of his family—with a warm dog bed in the house, shared everyday experiences, and people he can rely on. Cats should not live in his new home. For Harald, we are looking for dog-experienced people who enjoy working with a young, active dog and lovingly accompany him through life. Despite his open nature, we do not know what insecurities or experiences may still be within him. Therefore, Harald needs people with patience, understanding, and clear guidance. A confident only-dog could give him orientation, but it is not a must. Harald travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with his EU pet passport to his new home. Even a foster home would make him very happy. Harald has packed his bags long ago—now he just needs people who will show him that he can finally stay. Many thanks to Richard, who gave Harald his name and thus opened the way to a happy future! As of: 27.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 27.05.2026

About Harald

What life with Harald looks like

Harald is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harald, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harald?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harald on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harald if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Harald already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harald isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harald and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
