adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Hardys can stay! His story: Hardys has to sadly move back after a few years! Listi lovers, the little bear Hardys wants to introduce himself to you now. Hardys is currently still living with his family but has to leave with his brother this breed in the fall due to job changes. Hardys is about 60 cm tall and weighs 38 kg. But his heart is definitely adjusted to his size. In his current home, Hardys shows himself as a gentle giant. He is cuddly and very balanced. Hardys is house-trained and knows how to drive a car and take the train. He is also a great companion as an office dog, since his favorite pastime during the day is sleeping. When it comes to other dogs, Hardys mostly decides based on their friendliness. He is, however, compatible with all dogs in his home, whether male or female, especially if he knows them better. Hardys's favorite, however, is his little brother this breed. The two play a lot together and get along incredibly well. It would be great if they wouldn't have to be separated, but that would also be an option if only one of them found a new home. Hardys is very people-oriented. He needs a clear structure and owners who can give him orientation, otherwise he tries to orient himself and then it gets chaotic. We assume that Hardys is an American Staffordshire Mix. Possibly also a purebred. With that, she falls into the category of so-called Listihunde in Germany. It is unfortunately not allowed for us to place her in Germany. But in many other countries like Liechtenstein, Austria, Luxembourg, and in some cantons of Switzerland, this is possible – please inform yourself beforehand or we can take care of it. We are looking for adopters who are obedient but character-strong, responsible, and sovereign. They should already have sufficient dog experience and breed knowledge. Although American Staffordshire Terriers are trusting, curious, and loyal four-legged friends, they need good socialization and loving, but consistent handling. As usual, a visit to a dog training class that works with positive reinforcement could be helpful and strengthen the important bond between dog and human. Hardys is currently still in his home in 2604 La Heutte in Switzerland and can be visited and met there at any time by arrangement. Do you think Hardys would fit well into your life?

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Hardys darf bleiben! About Hardys

What life with Hardys looks like

Hardys is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hardys, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hardys?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hardys on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hardys if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hardys already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hardys isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hardys and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
