adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Our Hasel has found a home! Her story: Hasel was spotted at the parking lot of a supermarket. Many have seen her and photographed her… some have fed her, and some were simply bothered by her presence. The dog catchers also tried to catch her. Only Hasel was too clever and not always there, and fortunately our helpers were quicker and brought her to our private shelter for safety. Hasel impresses with her very open and loving nature. She is very friendly to people and also brave and curious. Outside her enclosure, she is very active and runs for her life and plays with other dogs. At the same time, one can also observe that she quickly relaxes and finds herself well at rest. On the leash, she already walks well and gets along well with fellow animals, although she likes to take the lead. With her approximately 49 cm and 23 kg, she has a pleasant medium size and is of athletic slender build. For active people looking for a lively companion on four legs, she would be perfect. We can imagine that she would enjoy interesting excursions and a variety of activities, sporting activities, or nice walks in nature. With her size and her friendly and open nature, she can surely be taken along to many occasions after a proper introduction. She would also be a great companion for sporting activities. Hasel already had a owner in Romania, who, however, gave her to a company. When our Heni contacted him and conveyed the joyful news of the find of his female dog, his biggest concern was only what to do with her. No longer wanted and discarded like trash, Hasel deserves so much more! Hasel still eagerly awaits her happy ending. She travels neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas to her new home. She has an EU pet passport and a foster home helps her a lot! Many thanks to Katrin L.! You named Hasel! Vielen Dank Katrin L.! Du hast Hasel ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 21.06.2024

About Hasel

What life with Hasel looks like

Hasel is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hasel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hasel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hasel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hasel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hasel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hasel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hasel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
