Adopt Haviva

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Haviva is a spayed mixed-breed dog born in November 2024, who was found along with her sisters Hailey, Hava and Hilda in a box in front of the Svilos animal shelter as a puppy. She is now ready for adoption and is looking for loving people who will never abandon her again. Haviva is a person-oriented and very affectionate dog who enjoys the company of her caregivers. She loves people and shows herself to be attached, kind and caring in daily life. She is initially a bit cautious and shy towards strangers, but with some time and patience she gains trust.Haviva is also a very active dog that needs physical and mental stimulation. On the yard she often runs around energetically, running and jumping. She loves her companions and enjoys playing with them. However, when given a choice, she is usually more interested in the people by her side. Treats have really caught Haviva's attention, so you can certainly work well and motivate her. We don't know her behavior towards cats and other animals. For Haviva we wish people who have enough time for nice walks, shared activities, appropriate stimulation and of course lots of cuddles. A dog companion would be beneficial for Haviva, as a confident companion could give her additional security and orientation. Anyone wishing to give a loving, active and affectionate dog a home will find in Haviva a wonderful companion.

About Haviva

What life with Haviva looks like

Haviva is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Haviva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Haviva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Haviva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Haviva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Haviva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Haviva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Haviva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
