Hector

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Hector is looking for its family… with Josette. Behind his endearing face, Hector bears the marks of its past… Our little loulou was mutilated and no longer has ears. But despite what it has endured, Hector is an incredibly gentle pig, close to human and full of tenderness. It loves belly rubs and being petted. It adores human presence, and especially… it’s an enormous gourmand. Hector shares its life with Josette, its faithful companion. Because a pig should never live alone, and because their balance means so much to us, we wish for them to be adopted together. We are seeking a family that is gentle, respectful, and willing to offer them:

About Hector

What life with Hector looks like

Hector is an adult mixed breed horse waiting at Refuge Natur in Belgium.

Adopting a horse is a long-term commitment that almost always requires either land or a boarding stable. The shelter will discuss the horse's training level, vet history, and what kind of work or companionship they're suited for. Expect ongoing costs: feed, farrier, vet, and stabling.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hector, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hector?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Refuge Natur handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hector on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hector if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a horse can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Refuge Natur what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Hector already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a horse comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Refuge Natur directly what is included and what Hector still needs.
What happens if Hector isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Refuge Natur early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hector and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
