Heinz

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · 2 months

While all of his siblings and his lovely mum have found their forever families, sweet Heinz is still searching for someone to call his own. This handsome little guy may be small, but he has a huge personality packed into his tiny frame. Heinz is playful, curious, affectionate, and always ready to make you smile. Whether you’re looking for an indoor-only companion or a cat who can enjoy some outdoor adventures, Heinz is happy either way – he’s not fussy, as long as he has a family to love. Heinz is a cat flu carrier, which means he may experience flare-ups in the future. While he has not required any treatment during his time in our care, this does not guarantee he won’t need support later in life. We’re looking for an understanding home that will be prepared to give him a little extra TLC if he’s feeling under the weather. Despite this, Heinz lives a happy, normal life and has so much love, fun, and companionship to offer. He deserves the chance to finally have what the rest of his family already has – a forever home. Could you be the one Heinz has been waiting for? ❤️

About Heinz

What life with Heinz looks like

Heinz is a very small adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Heinz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Heinz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Heinz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Heinz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Heinz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Heinz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Heinz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
