Hektor

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 2 months

HECTOR - a small dog with a big heart and even bigger hope. 🤍🖤 You'll hear him first... 📣 Then you'll see the little black-and-white ball trying to get your attention. That's Hektor. He barks because he really wants someone to come over. To open the box. To say, "Come on, let's go for a walk." And when that moment comes... magic happens. ✨ Hektor turns into a real volcano of joy. He runs, wags his tail so hard it looks like he's about to take off, jumps onto your lap, snuggles up tight and gives kisses to anyone who pays him even the slightest bit of attention. ❤️ This is a young dog, born around 2024. He's full of energy, curious about the world and in love with people. 👧 Kids? He loves them! 🐶 Other dogs? He gets along great with them. 🌳 A walk? That's the best part of his day for him. But there's another side to this story... 💔 When the walk ends and it's time to go back to the shelter box, Hektor falls silent. He doesn't bark. He doesn't ask. It's as if all hope that someone will come back for him is extinguished. We look at him then and it's hard not to feel like he once had a home. Maybe he was abandoned... There's something about him you can't learn in a shelter - Hektor tries his best to keep his box clean. He waits patiently and only goes when he's let out for a walk. This behavior speaks louder than a thousand words. Hektor doesn't dream of much. All he wants is to belong to someone again. To have a person he can run to, snuggle up with and sleep peacefully without worrying that tomorrow he'll be alone again. 🏡 If you're looking for a small dog with a huge heart who will greet you every day like he's your whole world, meet Hektor. Maybe his barking doesn't mean "Get my attention." Maybe what he's really been trying to say all along is... "Please... take me home." 🐾❤️ 📍He stays at a shelter near Radom (Mazowieckie province). 🐾 HEKTOR – mały pies z wielkim sercem i jeszcze większą nadzieją. 🤍🖤 Najpierw go usłyszysz... 📣 Dopiero potem zobaczysz małą, czarno-białą kuleczkę, która z całych sił próbuje zwrócić na siebie uwagę. To właśnie Hektor. ❤️ To młodziutki piesek, urodzony około 2024 roku. Jest pełen energii, ciekawy świata i zakochany w ludziach. 👧 Dzieci? Uwielbia! 🐶 Inne psy? Dogaduje się z nimi bardzo dobrze. 🌳 Spacer? To dla niego najpiękniejsza część dnia. Ale jest też druga strona tej historii... 💔 Kiedy spacer dobiega końca i trzeba wrócić do schroniskowego boksu, Hektor cichnie. To zachowanie mówi więcej niż tysiąc słów. „Proszę... zabierz mnie do domu.” 🐾❤️ 📍Przebywa w schronisku pod Radomiem (woj. Mazowieckie). Zainteresowanych adopcją prosimy o wypełnienie ankiety: ☎️kontakt: 517634246

About Hektor

What life with Hektor looks like

Hektor is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hektor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hektor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hektor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hektor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hektor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hektor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hektor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
