Hella T

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Hella - a small dog with a big heart is waiting for her luck ❤️ Hella's story unfortunately did not start as it should have. In March she was found near Kunágota. Unfortunately, innocent dogs are often abandoned on the roadside and left to their fate there. Hella was one of them. When she was found, she was very suspicious. She didn't know if she could trust people anymore because she had probably already had bad experiences. But with a lot of patience, care and love, she was allowed to experience day by day that there are also people who don't want anything bad for her. Slowly she regained confidence and showed more and more of her wonderful nature. Today Hella is a happy, loving and very human-oriented young dog. She loves the closeness of her reference persons and enjoys every caress in full measure. With her friendly nature she quickly steals people's hearts. On walks she explores her surroundings curiously and becomes more confident and self-confident from day to day. It is nice to see how much she can enjoy life now. Hella is about 32 cm tall and thus a handy companion for many joint adventures. Her half tail makes her something very special. She was probably born that way and it doesn't bother her in any way. In the animal shelter Hella shared a small kennel with two other female dog, including Holly. Despite the cramped conditions she has retained her gentle, friendly nature. She gets along well with other dogs, especially likes male dogs. Hella quickly closes children in her heart and meets them friendly and lovingly. However, she does not get along with cats, so she is looking for a home where no cats live. Hella was born on 04/10/2025. The Caniv-4D test will be carried out soon. We wish Hella loving people who give her time to arrive and discover the world together with her. She has so much love to give and is eagerly waiting for her own family, where she can finally arrive forever. If you would like to get to know Hella or have questions about her, we are very happy about your message.

About Hella T

What life with Hella T looks like

Hella T is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hella T, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hella T?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hella T on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hella T if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hella T already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hella T isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hella T and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
