adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Henni has found his people! His story: The handsome Henni with the wonderful tri-color coat came to us on a roundabout way, namely unintentionally through his pregnant mother. His mom was taken in and cared for by a wonderful woman. However, she soon realized that she had gained some size, and what came out were four adorable puppies. Unfortunately, there are countless puppies in Romania, and now we are searching for a suitable, caring, and loving home for these little, adorable siblings. Be enchanted by the little gang: Henni, Fay, Yuzu, and Indira, the only male dog and rooster in the basket. We would like to introduce you to our charming boy: Henni is approximately 5-6 months old and will be around medium size. This little charmer wraps everyone in his surroundings around his little paw in no time. His snout is simply to die for – his black mask on his face is simply extraordinary beautiful! Short legs, long body, a mix that reminds of pugs or corgis, but definitely a real surprise egg. Under certain circumstances, a German Shepherd or Malinois might have contributed to the mix. We have known Henni and his siblings for some time now, and what can we say? All four win hearts with their cheerful, pleasant, and puppy-like nature. All of them are familiar with other dogs and also had their first contact with children. Henni is still a very young male dog and must learn the complete dog 1*1 according to his age. Like all dogs, and also humans, every so sweet little one eventually enters puberty. Boundaries are tested, and previously learned things are sometimes forgotten. The hormones go wild, and there is often chaos in the head. It is important here to stand by the ward with love and a lot of patience. With an education based on positive reinforcement, the foundation for a good bond and deep trust is laid. Respect, understanding, and care are especially important in this phase. So, Henni will also develop into a wonderful everyday companion. A visit to dog training classes is particularly helpful for development at this time. There, he can play with fellow furballs under supervision, gather positive experiences, and train the dog ABC with his person. This not only makes for fun but also strengthens the bond between dog and person. Henni is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings his EU pet passport and is ready to start his new life after a positive Henni wants to start his new life. Has our little charmer also convinced you? Then contact us – Henni is looking forward to it! Many thanks to Nani! You gave Henni his name. As of: 13.07.

Vielen Dank an Nani! Du hast Henni seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 13.07.2024

About Henni

What life with Henni looks like

Henni is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Henni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Henni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
