Henning

Male

Henning was found together with a chicken and brought to us. It is likely that it was abandoned. Unfortunately, the two did not get along at all, so we have separated them and rehomed the chicken elsewhere. Now, Henning is also looking for a nice home. He is a very fine fellow, mostly black-coated, and should therefore come to a peaceful chicken group. He loves cucumbers, lettuce, and green grapes and will also eat out of your hand. If you are interested in adopting, please feel free to send us a detailed email.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henning, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henning?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bergheim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henning on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henning if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim Bergheim what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Henning already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim Bergheim directly what is included and what Henning still needs.
What happens if Henning isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bergheim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henning and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
