adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Henrietta has found a home! Her story: Henrietta and her brother Gustl had a terrible start in life. The little siblings lived on the farm of their alcoholic owner, who did not take good care of and feed the poor animals. The little puppies suffered terribly, as they were bitten by other dogs and were only fed irregularly and meagerly. It was high time that the two, about 4-month-old worms, were rescued from these conditions. Both were allowed to travel to their foster home in Germany with our dear animal rescuer Alina. Now Henrietta has arrived in Germany, she has quickly left her old life behind. Henrietta is a lively little puppy. Curious, loving, and friendly. She is very playful and has many ideas in her head. Although she has never met a leash before, Henrietta already runs well. She loves to cuddle and gets along well with the dog in the foster family. Her paws look like they have been bathed in milk, and her chest has a white patch. Henrietta is currently 4 months old and has a height of 33 cm. We suspect that Henrietta will remain small. One cannot predict this exactly. Her parents are unknown to us. Even little sweet puppies can enter puberty, a challenge that can cost some nerves. But with patience, love, and positive consequences, one can also master this time. Good dog training classes, as well as a dog trainer, can support here well. Henrietta is looking forward to meeting you. Who wants to give a mouse a truly beautiful dog life with everything that goes with it? There will be highs and lows, but she will surely become a charming companion when she wakes up. Henrietta is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She will be supported by a monthly sponsorship! Stand: 26.11.

Vielen Dank Lisa-Olivia H.! Du unterstützt Henrietta mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! About Henrietta

What life with Henrietta looks like

Henrietta is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henrietta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henrietta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henrietta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henrietta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Henrietta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Henrietta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henrietta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
