Henriette

Unknown

Henriette is in foster care in her new home. Henriette came to us on 07.10. As a found animal, after she was found on the street by attentive workers. It quickly became clear that the small female budgerigar was severely injured and was immediately taken to the vet. Henriette had a fracture in her leg and a ring that had already grown in. Luckily, she was found and was able to recover with us. Everything has now healed well and the brave budgerigar is ready to be integrated into a flock. General inquiry from interested parties:

About Henriette

What life with Henriette looks like

Henriette is a small adult bird waiting at Tierschutzverein Ettlingen in Ettlingen.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henriette, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henriette?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Ettlingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henriette on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henriette if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a bird can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierschutzverein Ettlingen what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Henriette already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a bird comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierschutzverein Ettlingen directly what is included and what Henriette still needs.
What happens if Henriette isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Ettlingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henriette and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
