Adopt Henry

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

🐾 Meet Henry – the sweetest little pup with a big heart 🐾 Henry is one of five beautiful puppies who came into our care at just six weeks old. We know who his parents are, though sadly we can’t officially document it. What we can say is that these pups were rescued from an area where hunting dogs are often abandoned once they’re no longer “in season” — and Henry is one of the lucky ones who made it to safety. Now nearly 1 year old, Henry has grown into a friendly, affectionate, food‑loving boy who’s eager to learn and desperate to please. He’s been raised around children, cats, and other dogs, and he’s taken it all in his stride. Our resident cats have already taught him the household hierarchy, and he now fully accepts that feline royalty must always be obeyed. 💛 Henry’s Details Neutered Fully vaccinated Brucellosis negative Passport ready and able to travel Henry is a loving, gentle youngster who deserves a wonderful home of his own. If you’d like to make him part of your family, please send us a message. 🏡 Home check & adoption fee apply

About Henry

What life with Henry looks like

Henry is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue in Bulgaria.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇬Adopting from Bulgaria

Bulgarian shelters typically include full vet workup, sterilization, and passport. Many coordinate with EU rescue partners for direct transport to adopter cities in Germany, Netherlands, and Austria.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Henry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Henry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
