Adopt Henry P

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born in 2018. Gender: male. neutered: yes Character: friendly, reserved with strangers but very friendly with trusted people Size: approx. 48 cm In shelter since: July 2023 Hey guys, I'm Henry and I'd like to introduce myself! I live here in the shelter on a leash. "Ah my goodness, the poor dog lives on a leash," some of you might think. But let it be said, we chained dogs don't have it so bad here. I don't have to fight with other dogs in the enclosure, I have my own little hut all to myself, and the leash is long enough that I have plenty of room to stretch my legs. I'm more of a quiet dog. But once I get to know people, I'm very friendly. If I have my trusted caregivers around me, I'm always happy and come out of my shell more! But since there are so many dogs here, the caregivers don't have much time for each one. And now it's your turn! Do you have room in your life for a loyal companion like me? Would you stick with me through thick and thin and not give up on our journey if it gets a bit rocky? I wish for people who will take me by the paw and show me the big wide world out there. People who will stand by me unconditionally and love me completely. If you're the person I'm looking for, I would be very happy to hear from you. Your Henry If you're interested in Henry, please fill out our Prospective Owner Form () or write us an email or message us on Facebook. Henry is ready to travel and can go with the next transport to Germany. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. As Traces, one refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. Claudia V. has taken on the sponsorship for Henry and ensures he has a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

Steckbrief Alter: 2018 geboren.

About Henry P

What life with Henry P looks like

Henry P is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henry P, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henry P?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henry P on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henry P if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Henry P already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Henry P isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henry P and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
