Hera

Female · Young · 3 years

Hera has spent a bit too long at the shelter and admits she's getting tired of life here. The many impressions can be overwhelming for her, so she dreams of a quiet home where she can land and just be Hera. 🥹🐾 Hera is a really nice girl who may need to get to know her new family a bit at first. She can be shy, but since she came to us, she has really blossomed and become a bit more people-seeking. ❤️ And once Hera has found out that you are approved as her human, it's okay to start cuddling! She loves a good dose of love and may stretch all the way to her toes to get a little more cuddling. 😻 Hera is also a lady with a healthy interest in snacks. In fact, you can safely call her very food-loving - the way to Hera's heart certainly also goes through the stomach. 🥰🍗 Now we hope that her forever home will soon appear. Hera should live with a calm family without young children and other animals, where she gets time and space to settle in at her own pace. When she's ready, she should also have the opportunity to go outside and explore the world on her own paws. 🌿🐾

DA·Show original

About Hera

What life with Hera looks like

Hera is a young adult cat waiting at Kattens Vaern in Kattens Vaern.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇰Adopting from Denmark

Danish shelters follow EU pet passport rules and require an adoption contract. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kattens Vaern handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hera if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kattens Vaern will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kattens Vaern early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DA). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
