adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Hera has found her home! Her story: Who gets bewitched? The little Magic Mouse Hera is a stunning presence with her black fur, which is marked with white spots on her paws and neck. Additionally, she has a small, white "mustache," making her even cuter. The little whirlwind wraps everyone around her paws. In mid-December, Hera arrived in her foster family, loves people, is playful, curious, and cuddly, as if she had always been there. She is a particularly people-oriented female dog. As soon as someone strokes her, she doesn't want to leave their side at all, she loves the presence of people very much. She also gets along well with older children. From the start, she was house-trained, went well on a leash, and is compatible with the existing only dog as well as with other dogs. The little Hera is open to everything, explores the world like a little child, and knows no fear. At two years old, she has already gone through puberty and is in her prime. Nevertheless, some challenges will likely await the new human-dog team. Originally, the little Hera was found as a street dog all alone in Zalau, Romania. Unfortunately, we do not know much about her past. We can, however, say with certainty that she has not experienced any traumatic events, as she is the most beloved creature. After a certain period of adjustment, we recommend a visit to a positively working dog training class. This is also a good opportunity to strengthen the bond between two-legged and four-legged. Who gives the little mouse a loving forever home? Hera is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive review. Thank you to Ca S.! You have given Hera her name and thus her own identity. Date: 02.01.

Vielen Dank an Ca S.! Stand: 02.01.2025

About Hera

What life with Hera looks like

Hera is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hera if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
