Hera

Female · Young · 3 years

Hera (weight approx. 1.3kg, neutered) came to us as a found animal, so unfortunately we do not know her history or true age. We are looking for a new home for her with a nice neutered rabbit. Hera is a little lady who knows what she wants and exactly what she doesn't want. She likes to be cheeky and defiant, but can also be sweet. She has not been touched so far, but always wants to be the center of attention. Since Hera belongs to the "Lop" breed, special attention must always be paid to her ear canals, as this quality breeding carries a high risk of ear infections. She is currently living indoors. If you are interested, please contact us by e-mail () and attach a few photos of your enclosure, as well as your rabbit's vaccination certificate.

About Hera

What life with Hera looks like

Hera is a young adult rabbit waiting at Tierheim Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Düsseldorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hera if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a rabbit can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim Düsseldorf what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Hera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a rabbit comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim Düsseldorf directly what is included and what Hera still needs.
What happens if Hera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Düsseldorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
